Description
I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 273’.
September 30, 2022, Journal Entry:
On my walk the other day, I saw another Hibiscus shrub with bright yellow flowers. This one flower was surrounded by dark leaves and shade which made it really stand out. I thought this flower was interesting because it is completely yellow, most hibiscus flowers have another color in their centers. I edited the image with a mild vignette to tone the darkness at the edge.
Tropical Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) will bloom periodically throughout the year in mild climates. It a bright and cheery flower native to China (in the tropical regions), although there is a yellow variety that is native to Hawaii, and it is the state flower. Most have dark green lush leaves. I believe they are easy to grow in the California weather because I see them all over the Southern California landscapes.
