Description
I joined a 7-day challenge starting January 7, 2022, and the theme for this challenge was “In the Kitchen Macros”. Here is my Day 5 – Cremini mushrooms sliced on the cutting board. This macro close up shows the details of texture and tones of these type mushrooms with all the crevice’s and dimples inside the mushroom. These mushrooms were sliced to include in a beef stroganoff recipe for dinner.
Cremini mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) are in the button mushroom family of edible mushrooms. They actually have a more robust flavor than the smaller button mushrooms and give a better texture and taste to certain recipes that call for mushrooms. They are brown and tan with dark brown tones inside where the gills are. Raw mushrooms are good addition in salads too. Being low carb, these mushrooms fit nicely in the low carb-keto diet regimens.
