September 29, 2022, Journal Entry:
Last week my sister and I attended a short demonstration of animal training by a college nearby. They brought a few animals to show how the students work with different animals to train them for a variety of functions such as movies, tv shows or for zoos. This is a Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pig, which they trained to look up and do turns. It was a happy pig as it swished its tail after each performance.
Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pigs are a small breed of pig. They are actually at this point in time an endangered animal, so there are conservation efforts to protect the breed. They symbolize happiness, safety and wealth in certain provinces of Viet Nam. It is believed that they originated from the Red River Delta area in Viet Nam. They can grow up to 14 inches tall and are docile animals which enjoy social outings.
