Description
I believe this to be a Common Buckeye butterfly which is quite colorful against the green in this meadow-field of wildflowers. This type butterfly is a member of the Brush-footed Butterfly family and it is related to the Monarch, Viceroy, Malachite, and the Fritillary subfamily. This butterfly is seen all around Texas in the Spring and Summer season.
