I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 195.
July 14, 2022, Journal Entry:
So, I stayed up last night (July 13th) to see the ‘Buck Moon’ but even after 9:30 p.m. it still wasn’t showing in the sky. I found out that in Texas it rose at 1:37 in the afternoon. I know I couldn’t see it then, so I got up early this morning and caught it as the sun was coming up. The atmosphere cast a pink tone on the moon. I was glad I did get a decent shot of it; I only have a 300mm lens as my longest zoom lens. The moon wasn’t near the clouds, so I superimposed the image with the clouds that were to my right and close by it to make the image a bit more interesting.
The Buck Moon is called that because the buck deer antlers should be in full growth by now. Buck deer shed their antlers yearly as time goes by each year the antlers get larger and stronger.
