I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 143.
May 23, 2022, Journal Entry:
While house sitting at my other sister’s house in Malibu a few weeks back, I was able to hit the beach for an hour on some days. While sitting there and breathing in the ocean air and watching the waves, these Curlew sea birds flew by in a bunch heading to another spot to look for morsels in the sand. I surprised myself by getting them all in a shot and in focus as well! I love their golden-brown color against the hazy blue sea and sky. These birds are called Long Billed Curlews.
Long Billed Curlew's (Numenius americanus) are shore birds in the Sandpiper family of birds. They can be seen along beach and ocean shores as well as marshlands around the ocean. They forage for deep burrowing prey such as crabs, shrimp and worms.
