Description
This green sea algae really covered some of great big rocks on the beach. I thought it was interesting the way it grew, kind of like thick hair. The front rock also looks like it has an eye with algae eyelashes, perhaps a sea monster that comes to life at night.
Sea algae are not plants but use chlorophyll for photosynthesis like plants do. This particular type is macroalgae that clings to sea rocks. There are species of seaweed/algae that can be valuable to nutrition, biomedicine, bioremediation as well as other uses. It is a very interesting organism and this particular species has brilliant green tones that shined in the sunlight. With the dark recess in the front rock it kind of looks like a one-eyed monster to me!
