Description
This is a macro photograph of a pretty blue Bearded Iris flower. It was early morning as the sun was coming up so parts of the flower were shaded and parts were highlighted by sunlight. I processed the image in an illustrated and painterly style with a nod to a slight abstract appearance.
Some gardeners state that the name of the Iris comes from the Greek goddess by that name, others state that since the Greek word for iris is rainbow, that the name comes because of the many colors that iris flowers come in. Whatever the origin they are a beautiful flower.
