Description
A purple Bearded Iris flower that was just quenched with a fresh morning rain. The drops of water are still on the petals and brings to mind a fresh and clear start to the day. Some gardeners state that the name of the Iris comes from the Greek goddess by that name, others state that since the Greek word for iris is rainbow, that the name comes because of the many colors that iris flowers come in. Whatever the origin they are a majestic flower. Photograph given special graphic effects for a slight painterly background.

Thanks so much, Karen! I hope my new iris's come up this year. Texas has had such fluctuating weather patterns, they might not know what to do! :)
