Tall and Curvy Iris Bud Stem Canvas Print

This is a pretty Bearded Iris Stem in a close up with the buds getting ready to bloom. You can see the colors of purple and yellow that the iris flower will become. I just loved the curves and straight stem which in my mind had a sculptural vibe and is so interesting. I processed the photograph in a slender vertical panorama format that accentuates the length of the stem and curvy forms of the buds.
Some gardeners state that the name of the Iris comes from the Greek goddess by that name. Others state that since the Greek word for iris is rainbow, the name comes because of the many colors that iris flowers come in. Either way it is a pretty flower when it blooms.

Hello! My main focus is nature photography, which is my favorite subject, especially flora and fauna that are naturally around my area in North Texas.
