The Zinnia flowers in my garden are blooming and it looks like I have several colors coming in bud. This one is the first to start blooming, a single red flower among a big stalk of red flowers. This is photographed with my macro lens and I think the details of the curly yellow tendrils within the petals are interesting. The spiders like to weave their web around and catch the insects that might come to the flower so you can see remnants of webbing as well.
Zinnias come in many colors and shapes and are easy to grow starting in late Spring through Summer. It is said that zinnias symbolize thoughts of friends who are not close by.

Hello! My main focus is nature photography, which is my favorite subject, especially flora and fauna that are naturally around my area in North Texas. In addition, I have taken to processing some of my photographs with digital art effects which brings out an artistic flair in an abstract or painterly style.
