I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 291’.
October 18, 2022, Journal Entry:
There is a walkway nearby my sister’s place that has a big Hibiscus shrub along the sidewalk. It only gets morning sun and then is shaded the remainder of the day. As I walked by, I noticed this big bloom in tones of red and peach, standing out from the dark leaves. A tropical looking flower indeed.
Tropical Hibiscus will bloom periodically throughout the year in mild climates. It a bright and cheery flower native to China (in the tropical regions) with lush green leaves. The California climate seems to be perfect for these flowers as they grow well all over the Southern California landscapes.
