I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 71.
March 12, 2022, Journal Entry:
This is a small tree in Southern California that had interesting seed pods on the branches. I shot this image with my macro lens for an extreme close up of the pods. I believe there is a spider on the lower pod which is not the focus of this image but a happy capture anyway.
It is on a Paperbark tree or Melaleuca, a type of Myrtle tree. It is considered an invasive species of shrub tree originating from Australia. There are over 300 types of these trees, and I am not sure what type this one is. They can actually grow up to 80 feet tall. They attract birds, bees and butterflies and bloom summer to fall.

Hello! My main focus is nature photography, which is my favorite subject, especially flora and fauna that are naturally around my area in North Texas. In addition, I have taken to processing some of my photographs with digital art effects which brings out an artistic flair in an abstract or painterly style. I dabble in other genre of photography such as food, architecture and road trip travels. I also enjoy pairing up my photographic art with Bible Scripture. My Photographic Scripture Collection is called 'Faith-Devotional' and is listed first in my Collections tab because I want to honor God first in all that I do in life and art. I have slowly started to paint again which I haven't done since the 1970's. I have a few of my paintings...
