Artist's Description
There some Indian Paintbrush flowers that are popping up in the meadows and fields and I like going out looking for wildflowers in the Spring here in north Texas. I loved how these three flowers were in stairstep stages of growth.
The huge snow and freeze event we had in February 2021 slowed them down but didn’t kill them. I processed this image in an impressionistic and painterly style to bring out the color tones of the flowers and grasses.
Indian Paintbrush flowers (Castilleja indivisa Engelm) are also known as Texas Paintbrush and Scarlet Paintbrush.
