Description
I was out bird watching near a stand of wild trees that edge a field near me and this cute little Carolina Chickadee landed on a branch near the trees that still had fall colored leaves. I processed this image in an impressionistic and painterly technique to bring out the Autumn tones in the scene for an artsy style.
Carolina chickadees (Poecile carolinensis) are small birds that are black and white and have a peach toned belly. They are most common in wooded areas and the forest edge. They can mate for life and sometimes use old woodpecker holes for their nests. You can see these birds in the southern portion of the United States and sometimes bird watchers mistake them for Black-capped Chickadees as they look almost identical.
