Aug 16, 2022, Journal Entry:
This Agapanthus flower in my sister’s garden had just started to bloom with a burst of little flowers at the top of its stem - waiting for its photo op. I edited the image with a painterly and textured style to portray a vintage flower print.
Agapanthus are called the Flower of Love as the name originates from the Greek words ‘Agape’ (love) and ‘Anthos’ which means flower. They can grow up to 3 feet tall and they are also called Lily of the Nile, but they are not in the lily family of flowers. They are native to South Africa and are now seen all over the world. They are especially prominent in Southern California as they grow easily here. They do attract hummingbirds, bees and butterflies.

Hello! My main focus is nature photography, which is my favorite subject, especially flora and fauna that are naturally around my area in North Texas. In addition, I have taken to processing some of my photographs with digital art effects which brings out an artistic flair in an abstract or painterly style. I dabble in other genre of photography such as food, architecture and road trip travels. I also enjoy pairing up my photographic art with Bible Scripture. My Photographic Scripture Collection is called 'Faith-Devotional' and is listed first in my Collections tab because I want to honor God first in all that I do in life and art. I have slowly started to paint again which I haven't done since the 1970's. I have a few of my paintings...
