Artist's Description
This pretty yellow toned Hibiscus flower was starting to open up its petals as if to announce it will soon bloom. The trumpet shape reminded me of a horn so the profile of the flower is what I wanted to capture and which makes an interesting form against the lush green background.
Hibiscus flowers are interesting and have meaning in North America. It means a perfect wife or woman and in the Victorian era a receiver of a hibiscus was viewed as a delicate beauty. In China they symbolize the fleeting beauty of fame or glory.
