Description
This male white-tailed deer buck was in an area of a forest of wild trees and flora that edge a field near me. He was walking through slowly and looked up a tree. I captured this pose because I have a long lens that I can get a fairly close up view so as not to disturb the wild deer if I see them. I edited my photograph with a watercolor painterly style in tan and brown tones for an artsy appearance.
White Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) are herbivores and the smallest of deer in North America. When running they can actually sprint up to 30 miles an hour and leap up to 10 feet in the air. These deer are usually found in brushy and wooded areas. It is estimated there are more than 3 million deer in Texas.
