Description
A close-up of a red spider lily. The petals have long spikes that tentacle out from the middle blossoms and is quite a showy plant. They spring up at the end of summer into fall and are a perennial plant. The technical name is Lycoris radiata, also known as magic lily or equinox flower. They are in the amaryllis family of plants and came from the orient originally. You can now see them grace southern landscapes in the U.S.
This photograph given slight special graphic effects to emphasize the texture of the petals and give a painterly ambiance.
