I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 229.
Aug 17, 2022, Journal Entry:
My sister in California has red Geranium flowers, and they were growing up a wall by her house. I like how they looked a little sculptural in their twisting and turning. I edited this image with a mild watercolor style and heavy texture as if it was painted on watercolor board.
Geranium plants (Pelargonium) have been around for over 200 years. They have fragrant flowers when they bloom and originated in South Africa. In the late 1700’s they came over from France to North America and Thomas Jefferson is thought to have planted the first cuttings which then spread from there as they were shared with family and friends. They now come in a variety of colors and types.
