I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 298’.
October 25, 2022, Journal Entry:
This is a pink Camellia flower that was in my other sister’s garden in Malibu. It was a rainy morning, and the water drops were clinging to the petals. I like this close up view of the flower with all the green around it.
This variety of Camellia plants (Camellia japonica) are a type of shrub which are evergreen and can bloom during the Fall season in warmer climates like here in California. They are slow growing and can reach up to 12 feet tall. They are native to Asia and Philippines and come in a variety of colors of flowers. It is said they do best in plant zones 7-9 so I might try to grow one in my area of Texas, zone 8.
