I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 48’.
February 17, 2022, Journal Entry:
My walks down to the lake dam have been a journey of discovery some days. Going over my photographs and choosing which images to edit, I am reliving the sense of freedom and grateful to God that I have these experiences now. When the lake is calm, then the reflections are seen more clearly so when this Great Blue Heron flew low along the water’s surface, its mirror image went along with it. The water tones had an ombre effect from the dark shoreline edge to the light cloudy sky that also reflected in it. This image gives me a peaceful and calm feeling when I look at it.
Great Blue Herons (Ardea Herodias) are wading birds. They are the largest heron in North America and have a six-foot wingspan. Like most birds they are legally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
