I joined a 5-day challenge starting March 6, 2023 and the theme for this challenge was “In the Kitchen”. Here is my Day 2 – I have several antique and vintage plates and platters in my kitchen, so I decided to photograph them. Here is one of them that my aunt in Germany sent to me over 30 years ago. It is a hand painted tole style wooden plate. I made a transparency of the plate and placed it on a vintage wallpaper background (since it hangs on a plain wall in real life). I processed the background into mainly reddish tones, complementary to the tones in the plate, so that the plate stands out and to make it more interesting to look at.
