These are pink Geraniums in my mother’s garden. They are a sweet looking flower that give me a feeling of nostalgia because I remember that my mom always had geraniums in her gardens as I was growing up. I gave this image a slight watercolor and textured paper style for a vintage print appearance.
Geranium plants (Pelargonium) have been around for over 200 years. They have fragrant flowers when they bloom and originated in South Africa. In the late 1700’s they came over from France to North America and Thomas Jefferson is thought to have planted the first cuttings which then spread from there as they were shared with family and friends. They come in a variety of colors and types now.
