I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 153.
June 2, 2022, Journal Entry:
There a few Chrysanthemum plants blooming now in my mom’s garden. This one looks like Fall to me because of its harvest gold and orange tones. When I first came here in March, there were just green leaves and dead buds on them. I almost threw them out but decided to cut them back and keep them in their sunny spot, watering them as I watered the other plants. I was amazed that they came back and now blooming these pretty flowers. I edited this image with an illustrated and painterly style for a Happy Fall feeling.
Chrysanthemums are also called Mums and come in a variety of colors and shapes. They are in the Asteraceae family of flowers. Most have originated from Asia and northeastern Europe. In the United States we see them as Fall season flower although they can bloom in the late Spring as well.
