Another pretty flower in someone’s garden near my mom’s place. These pink Geranium flowers were vivid in their double pink petals and tones. I edited this image with a painterly and slight textural style.
Geranium plants (Pelargonium) have been around for over 200 years. They have fragrant flowers when they bloom and originated in South Africa. In the late 1700’s they were brought over from France to North America and Thomas Jefferson is thought to have planted the first cuttings, which then spread from there as they were shared with family and friends. They come in a variety of colors and types now.
