I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 127.
May 7, 2022, Journal Entry:
Around the community near my mom’s place there are gardens and walkways that have a variety of flowers growing along them (which is fun for me as I walk through and stop to photograph them). I took my macro lens with me on this particular day and shot this close up of the center of a burgundy toned Day Lily. I was pleased to get the stamen in focus so you can see the fuzz on the tips of them. Edited with a touch of vignette to bring out the bright center of the flower.
Day lilies have many varieties and colors. They are called day lilies because the flower blooms for just one day. They are a perennial plant in the genus Hemerocallis. They bloom in the summer season in most areas but here in California they start in Spring. The great thing about these flowers, besides their striking beauty, is that they are very drought tolerant.

Excellent capture Gaby of a gorgeous Day Lily! I used to have tons of them in GA and VA.
