I joined the 365-day Journal challenge for 2022 and here is my ‘Day 178.
June 27, 2022, Journal Entry:
There was a huge Bougainvillea vine growing on a fence near my mom’s place and this is a semi-close portrait of the flowers that were cascading over the fence in bloom. I edited the image with a mild illustrative, painterly technique and with a gentle textured effect.
Bougainvillea (Bougainvillea) is a tropical shrub and is a vine type plant. They have beautiful magenta pink blooms when blooming. It is a hardy plant to grow in warmer climates. The flowers are actually a tiny white flower and the magenta pink parts are called bracts which are like leaf petals. It is a great plant for climbing up trellises and fences

Great capture Gaby! Who knew the actually flower was only the white center?!
Gaby Ethington replied:
Thank you, Kathy! Yes, I guess they are similar to Poinsettias in the way they grow.
