September 7, 2022, Journal Entry:
From the other day, a bee flying toward the Lions Tail flowers that grow along a pathway in mom’s community. I edited the image with a painterly, textured style.
Lions Tail (Leonotis leonurus) is also called Lions Ear or Wild Daggas and are in the Mint family of plants. They have fuzzy orange flowers that bloom from Spring to Fall. They are native to South Africa and are a fast grower. They attract hummingbirds and butterflies, and they can grow up to 8 feet tall. The leaves have an aroma like herbs if they are pressed.
Honeybees fly and make nests of wax for storing honey. We need bees to pollinate our crops so please do not kill them. This is a western honeybee. People also use their wax for candles and lip balm. They are very important to our environment.

Hello! My main focus is nature photography, which is my favorite subject, especially flora and fauna that are naturally around my area in North Texas. In addition, I have taken to processing some of my photographs with digital art effects which brings out an artistic flair in an abstract or painterly style. I dabble in other genre of photography such as food, architecture and road trip travels. I also enjoy pairing up my photographic art with Bible Scripture. My Photographic Scripture Collection is called 'Faith-Devotional' and is listed first in my Collections tab because I want to honor God first in all that I do in life and art. I have slowly started to paint again which I haven't done since the 1970's. I have a few of my paintings...
