July 6, 2022, Journal Entry:
My daughter had a beautiful pink orchid plant near a window in her house in northern California and it was blooming so beautifully. I liked how the stems of the plant in the background looked like little construction beams to hold up the flower. This is a Phalaenopsis Orchid. I edited the image with a slight illustrated and painterly style.
Phalaenopsis is also called moth orchid and is probably the best type of orchid to grow in the home. They are native to the tropical regions of Australia and Asia. The leaf joints of the plant grow the flower stalks and they can bloom for over a month at a time. They are easy to take care of in the house as they will not survive outside in the United States.
