Description
These pretty Spring Bluebonnet flowers were growing wild in a meadow in Texas. They are the state flower of Texas, and this clump of flowers were standing out in the wild grasses which looked like a golden green. I processed my photograph in a painterly and textured style.
Bluebonnet flowers are in the Lupinus family of flowers. These flowers are so named because their shape is like a bonnet worn by a pioneer woman of old. They are native to Texas and were named by the settlers there. It is also called a Wolf flower and there have been mutations that turned the flower pink, white or maroon. They grow all over Texas on the Spring and make the fields and prairies beautiful for weeks.
